Holy moly, this sums up EVERYTHING that has been floating in my head about this topic. Representation isn't everything because it exists within hegemony. It's important to be seen, but when being seen upholds and reinforce existing structures, I'm not so celebratory. I'd like to see "progress" outside of the linearity and binaries that constantly condition us.
